DAY 10 - Sept. 26, 2005
Laughlin, NV

Day 9

Mike's Journal

I drove to Irvine, CA today to teach the Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) course for Hunsaker & Associates. Tough to keep your focus when your mind's somewhere out over the mountains and canyons between Casper and California but I think my students were very happy with the instruction.

I heard from Jill this evening: the Crew made it as far as Page, AZ but they were pretty tired so they stopped for the night. They will try to fly in tomorrow and will call me when they lift off.

Cessna Flight Operations

Flying from Rawlins, WY to Page, AZ was incredibly beautiful. Over huge mountains and winding rivers, on into the sculpted red cliffs of Lake Powell with its turquoise blue green waters. Then past Page, AZ we skirted the southern rim of the Grand Canyon towards western Arizona. Clear skies, except for the usual cloudy stormy buildups over the Grand Canyon.
