My name is Sigfried. I'm one of the members of the Flight of Discovery and I'll be going along on the expedition in 2004.
That's right... I love to fly! My pal Greg and I fly all over the United States. Sometimes we use a small, single-engine airplane and other times, depending on where we are going, we might take a larger, twin-engine airplane. It doesn't matter to me; I like anything with wings... and helicopters, too! We have all kinds of aircraft going on the Flight of Discovery; taildraggers, helicopters... even a Cessna Grand Caravan that will carry a lot of our scientists. Lots of aircraft and people... but only one dog!
Everyone in the Flight of Discovery has a job to do and so do I. In addition to keeping a lookout for trouble along the trail, my job is to answer any questions you might have about our expedition. If you would like to know something about our schedule, where we're stopping, what kind of scientific work we're doing or if you're interested in aircraft and flying... just let me know! Between me and the Flight of Discovery team, we should be able to come up with an answer to your question!
Of course, you can also write a letter and tell me something about you. I'd really like that a lot! I'm looking forward to meeting all my friends when the Flight of Discovery lands at airports along the route next year. Maybe I'll get to meet you. That would be cool!
